The most stylish person you have ever seen...

I have a super soft spot for Tilda Swinton. She is beyond.

Please describe your style in three words.

Clean lines but somewhat surreal.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Think too much.

Do you believe in role models?

I did when I was younger; [I’m] getting too jaded now to think that way.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Every fabric behaves differently so it really depends.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

No, I rarely try pieces on before I buy them — only hats! MUST TRY THEM ON.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

No.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

There all chic women everywhere. I have seen the most beautifully dressed women in the deserts of Morocco to the old Portuguese women dressed all in black. Obviously women in Paris are effortless and Milan, dead-on right, but I wouldn't pick one city.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Both or neither, depending on my mood.

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

No rules, just some guts.

One garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Hats.

A woman should always look like...

Herself.

Who taught you what you know about style?

Nobody. My mother never cared for fashion or style so I guess it's something you either have or you don't.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Based on my mood — which explains the drastic changes in my outfits.

We will never see you wearing...

Cropped tops or jackets.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her confidence, or lack thereof.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My hats.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

Marlene Dietrich in the movie Morocco.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not at all. In fact, no matter what a woman is wearing, it's so much about how she moves and feels, so comfort goes hand in hand with style.

The best word of advice you have ever heard?

I don't take any advice too seriously. It's a problem I have.
