How do you select your clothing every morning?

My everyday outfits are very simple: I love wearing skinny jeans, leather pants, t-shirts, jackets, flats… I do ballet in the morning, so the first outfit I put on on a day is stockings, flats, and a tank with a sweater or a shrug.

Please describe your style in three words.

Interesting classic mix.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Overstyling!

Do you believe in role models?

I believe in having great references to build a style of your own. References will make it more consistent.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Definitely leather! But I also like silk, satin, tweed, and cashmere.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Too many colours together, print mixes…

Which city has the best-dressed women?

I’d say Paris, especially during fashion weeks, because of the cool mixes of styles and the nonchalant kind of elegance.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Neither conservative nor bold. My style is a mix of classic and a little bit of boldness.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

I want to feel comfortable and gorgeous. Wearing something just because it’s trendy is just not me!

Celebrities and style...

A few celebrities have great style. I think models, and some of them have the status of celebrities, are usually better dressed (off-duty and red carpet).

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Jackets!

A woman should always look like...

Herself!

Who taught you what you know about style?

I was very much influenced by my mom when I was a little girl. She has always had a very beautiful, and particular, sense of style and I wanted to look as beautiful and stylish as her. Then I travelled, studied, read magazines and books, and attended fashion shows… My style is the result of my observation of things, and of what has stroked me.

What is your biggest regret?

I don't think I have regrets. I've always done what I thought I should.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

Knowing herself, what she really likes — to build a style of your own takes a lot of effort and observation. Knowing her body. Knowing a little about fabrics, cut, and, of course, fashion.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Believe it or not, I don't like shopping and I hate trying on clothes.

We will never see you wearing...

Print mixes, too many colours in the same outfit.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

Christopher Kane, Alexander Wang, and Cédric Charlier.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

Kate Moss, so obvious!

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her education.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My Saint Laurent bijoux and my Chanel jackets.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Chanel.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is...

Her accessories. Also, to make sure she goes for high-quality clothes and good fabrics.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

People should look for both. No one looks beautiful if he/she looks uncomfortable.

Who would you like to recommend for œMy Style€?

I'd love to read Kate Moss' answers to it.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

Clothes create the atmosphere.
