The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

Don’t overthink your outfit. Always try to work out a good balance. If you're bored with your own wardrobe, see what your boyfriend's has to offer.

Please describe your style in three words.

Boyish, minimalistic and comfortable.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Dressing against your mood.

Do you believe in role models?

For sure. And the more role models the merrier, so you don't end up with one person dictating your life in all fields.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Wool, for keeping me warm in the winter, for its sustainable attributes, and for having made me some of my favourite pants, sweaters, and jackets.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

I’m trying not to be biased, but Copenhagen definitely has some good street style eye-candy.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

It depends on who you ask. Some people will find me bold and others will find me conservative.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

Look effortless, less is more.

Celebrities and style...

Some have got it right. Some definitely do not.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Jackets.

A woman should always look like...

She's in love. Women in love have a special glow about them that makes them look beautiful no matter what.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My grandmother who was a designer and a design school teacher. Although she didn't actually teach me things, her colourful universe full of fabrics, needles, threads and magazines and her own amazing style definitely sparked my interest.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

I start with the one item I really feel like wearing, and then I take it from there.

What is your biggest regret?

That I did NOT buy those Proenza Schouler creepers I saw at their store in SoHo, New York, the other day.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I'm definitely a very occasional consumer. I don't have a lot of spare time, so I rarely go window-shopping or shopping just for the fun of it. So before an occasion—be it fashion week, a music festival or a business conference—I'll pause and think “might I need something new for this occasion?” For sure, I'll conclude that in fact I do need something new, then I'll panic and go shopping very determinedly. When I go traveling I always keep a limited wish list in mind so I don't end up getting carried away, buying things I don't really need. Been there, done that.

We will never see you wearing...

Wedge trainers, nude nylon stockings (obviously) or something overtly sexy like a very short miniskirt.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

Mark Kenly Domino Tan, one of Denmark’s biggest talents. Check out his latest campaign and you'll see why.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

There are so many stylish, cool and chic women, like Phoebe Philo, Caroline de Maigret…the list goes on. Also, on this list is definitely my good friend Pernille Teisbaek, who has an impeccable and very admirable style.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

The glint in her eye. Or if she has one.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

Currently it's a Céline bag that I use almost every day, a long silk dress from Acne, a Proenza Schouler denim vest that I wear on so many different occasions, and a menswear shirt from Soulland that my boyfriend wore the night I met him (and it's mine now).

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

Pernille Teisbaek.
