The most stylish person you have ever seen...

The most head-turning person that I've seen was Anna Dello Russo in a hotel lobby. She was amazing and stood out like a sore thumb!

Please describe your style in three words.

Big, unusual jewellery.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Worrying about making them; mistakes are often fun.

Do you believe in role models?

Yes, but it depends on the context. Some people get a little too obsessive about being someone else and not themselves.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Anything mixed together that causes contradiction. I do quite like shitty sportswear fabrics.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

I get quite bored when I see too much of the same look on a person. People start to merge together.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

I like London style. Tokyo is also amazing.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Part of me is conservative, but I do like to add bold touches.

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

If my garment is understated, I generally go overboard with the jewellery.

Celebrities and style...

Yawn, I prefer to see real women with style!

One garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Large necklaces. They can add interest to boring outfits and will always fit you!

A woman should always look like...

Herself.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It depends on my mood and what I'm up to.

What is your biggest regret?

It hasn't happened yet. I don't have many regrets.

The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

Find what suits her body shape. Don't follow the crowd. Wear what brings a smile to your face.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I don't really have time at the moment to do much shopping. I'm too busy making clothes, not buying them!

We will never see you wearing...

Ugg boots. I hate them!

Which new designers do you follow and why?

I love Sarah Williams bags and luggage. I also love Imogen Belfield’s jewels.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her shoes.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

A Balenciaga wool coat, a one-off dress that my boyfriend, David Longshaw, designed/gave to me on my birthday several years ago, and some of my grandmother’s rings.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

I do quite like the look of a land girl.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

I always look forward to Balenciaga collections.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is...

The basics. Get them right, and the rest should come quite naturally.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

No, it's fine, in balance.

Who would you like to see next in €œMy Style€?

Louise Markey (LF Markey).
