The three essential things a woman should know about style are…

Be confident, stay warm, and wear shoes you can actually walk in. There's nothing sexy about freezing your ass off and walking like a zombie cow.

Please describe your style in three words.

Unafraid, playful and ever-changing.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Being afraid to make mistakes. One should have a fearless approach to fashion.

Do you believe in role models?

Absolutely! My role models never stop inspiring me, which is why they are my role models I guess.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Anything soft and natural. Leather, cotton, wool and cashmere. And, oh…silk and velvet.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Not that I can think of. I doubt I'll ever try out some of the combinations I sported at sixteen, but other than that I'm pretty open minded. Fashion is all about fun.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

Paris and New York.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Bold, for sure.

What are the rules in the way you dress?

Never be afraid to have fun and try out new things. Always seek new inspiration, and never have regrets. That last one is a bit hard to stand by though…

Celebrities and style...

Are not very interesting (there are a few exceptions of course). I'm much more inspired by people who don't have close to unlimited access to fashionable items.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Coats and leather jackets. And shoes. And good bags.

A woman should always look like…

She is comfortable in her own skin and with what she's wearing.

Who taught you what you know about style?

I don't know to be honest. My mother tells me I was very particular about what I wore from a very young age, and I would change outfits up to five-six times a day. I think I was influenced by things I saw on TV and the music I listened to, so I guess there are loads of people to thank, haha.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I really take my time to pick out an outfit, but most of the time I´d much rather sleep, and end up just throwing something on.

What is your biggest regret?

All those times I've ended up doing things I'm not comfortable with. If there's one thing 32 years on this earth has taught me it's to trust my gut feeling.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

No, but if I were to have one it should be less shopping.

We will never see you wearing…

Those wedge sneakers from Isabel Marant. Dear God…

Which new designers do you admire and why?

Mona Jensen of Tom Wood. It's like she can read my mind and know exactly what I want. I'm such a huge fan of what she does. I wear her jewellery every day, and now that she has launched her own clothing collection I think I can get rid of everything I own and start from scratch.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

Oh, there are tons of stylish people I admire... not just one. Grace Jones, David Bowie, Leandra Medine, Elin Kling, Pharrell, Veronika Heilbrunner, Nick Wooster, Caroline de Maigret, Natasha Goldenberg, Guns 'n' Roses in their glory days and Michele Lamy to name a few. All people who are not afraid to stand out and who stay true to their own style.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her attitude.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My customised vintage leather jacket from BESS and my traditional Norwegian Bunad which was sewn by my grandmother during WW2.

The one image that defined your approach to style…

Jennifer Lopez in THAT Versace dress at the Grammy Awards in 2000. It did something to me...

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Proenza Schouler and Phoebe Philo.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is…

Her shoes. Bad shoes ruin the entire outfit. The same goes for the bag really…

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not really. Style isn't defined by what you wear, but by how you wear it.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

My friend Jone Nielsen. He has such a fearless approach to fashion, plus he's a super talented designer. Veronika Heilbrunner, because she's cool as f***, and because she totally owns her style!

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

Never go to bed angry. Always kiss and make up.
