One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is...

The busy women in this world need that great day-to-night dress that makes them feel fabulous from sunrise to sunset. Plus, every woman needs the right pair of jeans that she will never get sick of.

Please describe your style in three words.

American. Euro. Chic.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Picking a trend over what flatters your body.

Do you believe in role models?

We all need role models, and mine change from time to time, but right now Mrs Obama is my number one. She is fashionable, smart, kind, and original.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Honestly, Spanx. It’s all about the underpinnings!

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Matching eye shadow colour to one’s dress.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

We are such a global universe that it is hard to say. But if I had to choose, Paris is my favourite for outfit watching.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Neither!

What are the rules in the way you dress?

They are simple: less is more and quality over quantity.

Celebrities and style...

Do not always work out!

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Charlotte Olympia shoes.

A woman should always look like...

The very best version of herself.

Who taught you what you know about style?

I grew up on American Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Tatler. Claudia Schiffer and Chanel epitomised glamour and were my style references as a teenager growing up in the countryside.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

I have my go-to looks for business meetings, styling, and the playground. For nighttime events I often call up my favourite stylist at Rent the Runway to help me find the perfect look!

What is your biggest regret?

I honestly can’t say that I have any. If I did anything differently I wouldn’t be where I am today!

The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

Know what looks best on you, build up staples in your wardrobe, and know how to put items together.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I love to shop alone and I always make sure to have food in my stomach to keep me energised. I spend ample time trying things on and am very focused.

We will never see you wearing...

Overalls. That ship has sailed!

Which new designers do you follow and why?

I adore so many new designers including The Row, Rag and Bone, Lela Rose, and Alexis Bittar jewellery.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

I’ll have to give this one to my mum.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her confidence.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My shoe collection and my 1970 Giorgio di Sant’ Angelo vintage purple gown that I bought when I was 21 years old as my first fashion splurge!

The one image that defined your approach to style...

Julie Christie in Shampoo.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Chanel. Mr Lagerfeld is fashion's equivalent to Einstein.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Definitely not! A woman often looks her best when she is comfortable.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style€?

Plum Sykes, Alice Sykes, Ann Caruso, Betsy Rhodes, Mary Alice Stephenson.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

Success will come and go but integrity is forever.
