The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

It's not about the price tag, it is ever-changing, and it comes from the soul.

Please describe your style in three words.

Comfortable, relaxed, edgy.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Cramming too many trends into one look.

Do you believe in role models?

Absolutely, for the right reasons. It needs to be more than how they look/dress.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Jersey cotton and denim.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Too many trends in one outfit.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

It depends on my mood!

Which city has the best-dressed women?

London! But also probably the worst too…

What are the rules in the way you dress?

It’s better to be too smart than too casual for an occasion. Nothing too short. Nothing too tight.

Celebrities and style...

One does not equate the other.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Jewellery!

A woman should always look like...

She is comfortable and confident in what she is wearing and not trying too hard.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My father, he was a very “natty dresser” (his words!). He was all about quality, not quantity when it came to clothes.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

It depends what I'm doing that day (and if it’s raining!).

What is your biggest regret?

Selling an amazing pink sparkly D&G jacket on eBay when I was a broke student, I miss it.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

I always shop online so I can try things on at home and create outfits. I find it’s also less impulsive.

We will never see you wearing...

Anything body conscious, unless I'm surfing and wearing my wetsuit!

Which new designers do you follow and why?

I adore Blake LDN for knits and Marina London for silk.

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

Poppy Delevingne, I love how fresh and effortless she always looks.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her jewellery; you can tell a lot about a woman through that.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My Chanel handbag that my friend Tallulah (Harlech) gave me, and the first ever ring I made from silver with my father in his workshop.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Stella McCartney.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is...

Bras, I hate it when you can see bra straps or they don’t fit properly… those see-through bra straps are the worst.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not always, there is nothing less cool than a women who is visibly not comfortable with what she is wearing.

Who would you like to recommend for €œMy Style€?

Alice Holland, jewellery editor of Tatler.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

I met Matthew Williamson at a polo match just before I was going to Central Saint Martins and he told me to “work my socks off”.
