Are there any style combinations that you object to?

Only those that don’t allow the wearer to feel comfortable and carry the trend. If you’re going to mix and match exotic options, it is key you set the tone of fabulous-ness with confidence!

Please describe your style in three words.

Elevated, wearable, basics.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Picking too many ‘wow’ pieces; pick one stand out item, the piece you want to receive all of your compliments on for that given day, and let the rest of your look speak to highlighting this one, truly amazing piece.

Do you believe in role models?

Absolutely, having the opportunity to take key learnings from those in your life either personally or professionally is wonderful to mirror their wins or sidestep their stressors or failures!

What are your favourite fabrics?

Printed silks, featherweight cottons, woven patterned textiles and intricate laces.

Which city has the best-dressed women?

As I am currently writing these replies from Stockholm this week, to me, Stockholm. Effortless, chic, minimal… lovely.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Conservative pieces with bold accents!

What are the rules in the way you dress?

Not overly trendy. Always functional. Certainly fun!

Celebrities and style...

Are not one in the same; celebrities and select stylists make trends come to life and bring trends to the general population.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?

Featherweight tees.

A woman should always look like...

Today will be the best day of her life!

Who taught you what you know about style?

My mother, Teresa Fister, one of the most stylish women I know!

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Based upon the day’s activities. I have collected quite a closet — namely pieces from my travels around the world. I always nab a fashion souvenir. For example, from Stockholm there will certainly be an Acne piece or two added to my collection!

The three essential things a woman should know about style are...

Invest in a great pair of shoes. Invest in a great handbag. Embrace your personal style, it is only yours!

Do you have any shopping rituals?

No. I love the experience and tend to ‘fall into the world’ the store or e-commerce site has created!

We will never see you wearing...

Five inch heels… I’m already 5’10”, so four inches is my max! Although that makes me miss out on some gorgeous styles…

Which new designers do you follow and why?

I check out Anthem Wares for the newest accessories brands. On this site I recently discovered Benedetta Bruzziches… gorgeous handmade handbags. I look up to this designer for her commitment to quality and craftsmanship!

Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?

Margherita Missoni.

What is the first thing you notice on a woman?

Her smile.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

A pair of Manolo Blahnik Black Lizard slingbacks my father bought me when I first started working. A Pucci gown I bought for my sister’s graduation celebration, amazing yellows and faded pinks. My wedding ring.

The one image that defined your approach to style...

A white orchid, simple and classic with pops of colour.

Which fashion house never fails to impress you?

Missoni.

One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is...

Her shoes and handbag (I guess that is two!).

Is comfort an enemy of style?

Not if it is done with a clever eye and a focus on quality.

Who would you like to recommend for œMy Style?

Yael Aflalo.

The best words of advice you have ever heard?

The harder you work, the luckier you will get!
