Wearing leather shoes without socks, if you are a man.

Yes, if the there is a tangible fit or chemistry between the designer and muse!

Silk crêpe.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

No, we have to be free.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

For me, it’s London.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Bold.

What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?

It's very instinctive. I just pick through my wardrobe everyday as if it was already written in my mind. I love to mix daywear with evening pieces.

Belts to match or contrast with all my looks.

A movie star.

Who taught you what you know about style?

Myself.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Very quickly! I just take what I think is good and wear it. I'm very fast.

I never have regrets.

How to match colours. Never be shy of wearing accessories. Know your taste and look.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

No, it is messy. I love to discover new things even in strange boutiques.

An old pink pashmina from the 19th century I bought in Jaipur.

No, style has to be comfortable too.
